What is the Basic Payment Account?

The Basic Payment Account is a non-interest-bearing account in euros that allows you to carry out the basic and usual transactions of a current account. It has been designed for people who are in one of these situations and who declare that they do not have a payment account with another entity in Spain:

(a)  Who legally reside in the EU, including those who do not have a fixed address.

b)  Who are asylum seekers.

(c) Who do not have a residence permit but who cannot be extradited for legal or factual reasons.

To open the Basic Payment Account it will not be compulsory to acquire any of the entity's other products or services.
