These prizes constitute a capital gain in kind subject to tax, according to current tax regulations. The winner must declare the value of the prize received in the general tax base of their personal income tax (IRPF) return.
In both cases:
The applicable VAT will be due when the prize is delivered to customers. However, Openbank will not charge customers for this accrued VAT payment. Instead, it will be paid and effectively borne by Openbank.
