Openbank supports III edition of 100km x Africa solidarity run
06/06/2018
Openbank, Santander Group’s 100% digital bank, is participating in the III edition of the 100km x Africa solidarity run. The event, sponsored by Fundación Recover, aims to raise funds in order to expand and equip the maternity area in the Bouaflé Health Centre in Côte d'Ivoire. In this country, there is still a high mortality rate of mothers and children, so specialised care before and after delivery is crucial for saving lives.
The competition, which involves running 100 kilometres in relays for 24 hours, is geared towards companies that want to engage their workers in sports and solidarity activities. Openbank employees will join this solidarity cause and will also contribute as sponsors of the event.
The run will start on 9 June at 12 p.m. in the town of Colmenar Viejo (Madrid) and will end on Sunday, 10 June at 12 p.m. During the 24 hours of competition, the event will also take place in the towns of Manzanares el Real, Hoyo de Manzanares, Tres Cantos, El Goloso, Canto Blanco and San Sebastián de los Reyes.
Openbank has over a million customers who manage their finances through its app and its website and have a customer service hotline available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In 2017, Openbank fully upgraded its technology platform and expanded its range of products and services. These achievements have led to it being one of the most highly rated banks, according to GfK.
