Openbank pays customers €150 for direct deposit of salary and increases interest on its saving account to 0.20%

10/05/2022

Openbank, the 100% digital bank of the Santander Group, is launching a campaign to improve the terms of its savings products. It is offering €150 to all new and existing customers who pay their salary into an Openbank account. This new campaign, its largest in recent years, quadruples the incentive currently offered for depositing recurring salary payments into the account, and will run until 30 October 2022.

The bank is also quadrupling the interest earned on its savings account to 0.20% for customers who have their salary paid into their account and/or set up three direct debits; and 0.05% for customers who don’t. In both cases, this interest is unlimited.

The bank has established itself as one of the key players in the savings segment, offering customers fee-free accounts they can open through the Openbank website or app in just 10 minutes. New customers can also take advantage of standard Open Payroll Account benefits, such as a refund of 0.5% of their main direct debits (electricity, gas, water, internet, etc.), a discount program with partner companies, and free access to a network of 7,500 Santander ATMs.

Mateo Rodríguez-Braun, Openbank Product Director, said: “We’ve always been very close to our customers, regardless of the scenario. This new offer is designed to improve the terms of our savings products and adapt to the current situation with an account that provides the best financial solutions for everyday banking and a world-class digital platform.”

To sign up for this promotion, simply enter the code NOMINA150 on the Openbank website and pay a monthly salary of €1,000 (€600 if you’re aged between 18 and 31 years) into your Openbank account for at least one year. The incentive will be paid into your account within two months from the date on which the direct deposit of your salary is arranged.
