With respect to personal injury, any damage caused by the driving of the vehicle will be compensated, except if it was caused due to the fault or negligence of the injured party or due to anything that is unrelated to the driving or operation of the vehicle.

  • In Voluntary Third Party Liability Insurance, (also called Complimentary Third Party Liability) everyone except the insured party, the policyholder, the spouses,  parents,  and children of both and the partners of the policyholder and insured policy is considered to be a third party. This insurance offers compensation that exceeds the amount covered by Mandatory Third Party Liability Insurance. This is because the Spanish Civil and Criminal Codes require the repair of the damage caused, by act or omission, where there is recklessness or negligence.

The traded funds known as ETF (Exchange Traded Funds) are investment funds that are traded on the stock market as if they were shares.

The advantage is that they diversify like an investment fund but have the same flexibility as shares. This allows you to widen your investment options and they help you with your diversification strategy at low cost. With a single transaction, each ETF share efficiently replicates an entire index, knowing its composition at all times.

They are fully transparent  as during trading hours the Stock Exchange calculates and reports an estimated net asset value, which allows you to know how your investment is performing at all times.

ETFs  are regulated in both international and national markets. Check the official documentation on each ETF (full prospectus, latest published regular reports, etc.) on the website of the National Securities Market Commission.

The net asset value is the price that a share has at a certain time.  That is, the price at which it would be sold at that moment. This value is calculated daily on the price of the assets in which the fund invests. That is, it always reflects the real value of the participation on the date indicated.

The fees of an investment fund are discounted daily in the proportion corresponding to the net asset value of the fund. Therefore, when you check this net asset value, remember that it is net.

The valuation date corresponds to the last net asset value that the adviser has sent us, usually 1 to 3 working days before the date of the consultation. There, the balance of the investment fund never reflects the valuation on the day that you make the consultation.

When it comes to car insurance, a loss refers to a traffic accident

If you have a loss, you must notify it to your insurer a maximum of seven days after it takes place.

If only material damage occurs, the solution usually involves a friendly settlement declaration that each of the parties involved presents to their insurance company. The insurer will send a loss adjuster to assess damages for repair.

When personal injury occurs, the traffic authorities write a statement describing how the accident occurred. In these cases the loss can be settled by friendly means – if the insurance companies and the injured parties reach an agreement – or, if there is no such agreement, by judicial means to establish the liabilities and compensation

Euribor is the index most commonly used as a reference (i.e. to calculate the revision of variable interest rates) in mortgage loans. It comes from the average of the rates applied to euro deposit operations by the 50 most active banks in the European interbank market.

The Euribor is published for several maturity dates, but the one that is used as the official reference index (interbank reference) is one-year Euribor. If you want to find the latest published value, you can check this on the Bank of Spain website.

The spread is the margin added to Euribor when you take out your mortgage (if it is Variable or Mixed) so that Euribor + spread = the interest rate for your mortgage

With them, you can win when the market falls or hedge your portfolio, or increase your earnings thanks to the leverage effect they allow. The net asset value is the price that a share has at a certain time.  That is, the price at which it would be sold at that moment. This value is calculated daily on the price of the assets in which the plan invests. That is, it always reflects the actual value of the share on the date indicated. This value is net, because the fees of the adviser and depositary are already discounted.

The valuation date corresponds to the last net asset value that the adviser has sent us, usually 1 to 3 business days prior to the date of the consultation. Therefore, the balance of a Pension Plan never reflects the valuation of the day on which the consultation takes place.

Of course! If you want to withdraw your deposit but it has still not reached its maturity we will pay you the 0.05% annual nominal interest rate. We will not charge you an early cancellation fee. We offer the Open Mortgage, with three made-to-measure alternatives. Choose between a Variable, Mixed or Fixed Mortgage to buy your first or second home.

You choose:

  • Open Fixed Mortgage: The payment will always be the same throughout the term of the loan (*). This is true regardless of whether Euribor increases or decreases.

  • Open Variable Mortgage: The payment may increase or decrease annually, depending on changes in Euribor. (*)

  • Open Mixed Mortgage: For the first ten years your payment always remains fixed. From then on it will be updated annually with the current Euribor. (*)

(*) Provided you meet the following requirement: Have your salary, pension, unemployment benefit or any other regular payment received by transfer as remuneration paid directly into Openbank, or make a deposit every month into Openbank from an account in another bank. For a single holder, the amount of any of the above items must be equal to or greater than €900 per month. If there are two or more owners, the minimum amount is €1,800 per month. If you do not fulfil the above requirement, the interest rate applicable after non-fulfilment will vary and will be the result of adding an additional margin of 1.20% to the annual nominal interest rate.

To earn you money on your savings because it generates interest that we pay into your account each month. In addition, you can withdraw your money whenever you want

A transfer involves changing the money that you currently have invested in a given pension plan to another pension plan. Both the entrance transfer and the internal transfer are exempt from taxation.

In entrance transfers, the money goes from a pension plan with another entity to one with Openbank.

And the internal transfer consists of passing funds from pension plans that you currently have contracted through Openbank to other funds from our portfolio.

You can, as long as you meet the minimum investment  required by the product. You only have to order the opening of the deposit and request the transfer of your funds at the same time.

But remember that, if we receive the funds more than 45 days later and/or their value is more than 10% less than the minimum amount of investment required, you will not meet the requirements, so you will not be able to open the combined product. In this case, the interest rate that will be applied to the amount of the deposit will be nominal annual 0.5%.

The interest rate of the Open Variable Mortgage will be reviewed annually and the instalment will be updated with the current Euribor rate. Your mortgage payment can go up or down depending on the interest rate revision with the corresponding Euribor.

No fees

Whichever option you choose, Variable, Mixed or Fixed rate:

1Volatility is the fluctuation in the price of assets in the portfolio.

Normally, the greater the risk the greater the return and vice versa. Strategies that are riskier have more pronounced upward and downward movements, and those that can be considered "safer" potentially offer lower returns but also lower losses. Diversification reduces the risk while maintaining an adequate expected return.

That is to say, it is the one that is recorded from an initial maximum ("peak") to a minimum ("valley"), being the recovery time the one that passes until the value of the fund exceeds the initial maximum.

Openbank has set up an Investment Committee that meets at least once a month or when judged necessary due to market circumstances. The Investment Committee is advised by BlackRock, one of the largest, if not the largest, asset managers in the world. Based on this vision, the Investment Committee chooses the investment funds with which to implement the various investment strategies.

It is a way of grouping instruments based on their characteristics and behaviour. At Openbank we show you these asset classes:

  • Liquidity and monetary assets.

  • Fixed income, comprised mainly of bonds.

  • Equity, composed mainly of shares listed on the stock exchange.

  • Real assets that are linked to the real economy and that provide greater diversification (real estate assets, bonds linked to inflation, raw materials and infrastructure).

Openbank's Investment Committee, advised by BlackRock, manages portfolios based on a defined risk to be consumed, the sources of that risk (fixed income, equities and/or others) and the allocates the portfolios accordingly, not based on a predetermined asset allocation. This management approach means we are better able to adapt to changing market conditions, ensuring that the risk assumed is always under control. This is how we maximise the result obtained for each level of risk.

Portfolios are reviewed at least monthly or when judged necessary due to market circumstances. Openbank's Investment Committee carries out these reviews.

For online and telephone queries:

  • You have a 4-digit passcode, which you choose when you open your first account, and is required for any queries you may have.

For operating over the phone:

  • We provide you with an alphanumeric signature key, with 8 positions, which you must use for transactions involving the movement of money outside of Openbank, as well as for orders and contracts. For security reasons, we'll only ask for random positions.

In online operations:

  • When you operate through our website or app, you will receive an  SMS with the code so that you can complete the operation. That's why you need to keep your mobile phone up to date at all times. If you think we may have your number out of date, please call us on 91 277 33 10 so we can change it as soon as possible.
  • For operations that require an additional security factor we can also ask you for the signature key, but it will never be necessary for access or consultation and we will never ask you for the complete signature key.

You can change these settings as often as wish. Go to the customer area of the website, enter the 'Cards' section, and click on 'Security Settings'. And in the app, click the card settings icon.

There are many differences between passively managed funds and actively managed funds but one of the main ones is the cost to the investor: passively managed funds have lower costs than actively managed funds. This lower cost does not imply that, with the same strategy, they offer a higher return.

So that you can make a decision, let us tell you why this cost difference between the two management types exists:

  • Costs of passive management: these are low because passively managed funds replicate indexes and, using different techniques, this form of management can be inexpensive for the fund manager. For an investor it would be more difficult to create a diversified portfolio like that of an index and still have the low costs of a passively managed fund.

  • Costs of active management: actively managed funds try to beat their benchmark indexes, achieving a risk-adjusted long-term return, and to do this the managers must analyse the financial markets, build a vision of the future, bet actively against the indexes, etc., to try to anticipate the behaviour of the markets, exploit their inefficiencies and, thus, achieve a greater return.

When comparing the results of some funds with others, keep in mind that:

  • Passive management makes sense as a way to obtain the market beta (sensitivity to the movements in the benchmark index; for alternative, beta 1 means behaving like the indexes).

  • Active management makes sense as a way of obtaining a positive alpha (extra return between a fund and its index). Therefore, the important thing in active management is to consistently beat the benchmark index. This is possible for the leading managers in each asset class.

The discretionary management service is a fiduciary service; i.e., the team of professionals who manage your money is required by law to look after the customer's best interests, making the best decisions to help your investment to evolve. This means that we need you to give us information about your knowledge and experience, as well as your goals and financial situation, so we can offer you suitable investment strategies based on the result of the suitability test.

By doing the suitability test, we can be sure we are offering you the investment goals that are most suited to your needs as an investor. We will ask you about your knowledge and experience, your investment goals and your financial situation and based on your answers we will establish your investor profile.

No, you can disable it for as long as you wish.

If you sign up for our Robo-Advisor Automated Investment service now you will not pay fees for the service until 31 December.

We apply the following fees to this service:

  • For balances under €25,000 the management fee will be 0.85% + VAT per year.
  • For balances over €25,000 and under €100,000 the management fee will be 0.65% + VAT per year.
  • For balances over €100,000 the management fee will be 0.55% + VAT per year.

Every month, the fees will be charged from the discretionary management account by the sale of shares in the portfolio's investment funds. These management costs are calculated based on the average daily assets under management.

For example, for an investment of €20,000, the fee would be €14.17 per month1. Please note that the balance of your investment is automatically readjusted on a regular basis, so fees are also calculated according to the total amount of investment.

The promotion consists solely of the exemption from payment of management service fees accrued to Openbank but does not include all other fees, costs and expenses associated with each of the Funds in the discretionary management portfolio and any other fees or charges that arise as a result of your contractual relationship with Openbank.
