What is an international transfer?
It is a money transfer that is sent or received between bank accounts in different countries, especially outside the SEPA zone. It can be in euros or in the currencies we have available.
You can send them 100% online on the Openbank app or website, quickly and easily.
Do Openbank international transfers have any fees?
Openbank does not charge any fees for issuing or receiving international transfers. However, other intermediary banks or the recipient bank may apply charges.
Bear in mind that if the currencies of the source (issuing) account and destination (receiving) account are different, the exchange rate published daily on our website will be applied.
Which countries can I send money to?
You can send money almost anywhere in the world, both inside and outside Europe, as long as the recipient bank supports international transfers.
What details do I need to make an international transfer?
You will usually need:
• Name of payee:
• IBAN or account number
• BIC/SWIFT bank code
• Destination country and bank
How long does an international transfer take?
The term may vary depending on the destination country and intermediary banks, but usually ranges from 1 to 5 business days.
Can I send money to accounts without an IBAN?
Yes, it is possible to make international transfers to accounts that do not have an IBAN format, provided that you correctly provide the bank details required (such as the SWIFT code).
Is it secure to send money abroad with Openbank?
