02/03/2026
- The bank offers 2.02% APR, with no maximum balance, for one year to customers who open its new interest-bearing account and activate and use Bizum.
- New customers who set up at least two direct debits will also receive €20 per month for ten months (up to €200).
Openbank, Santander Group’s 100% digital bank, is expanding its savings offering with the launch of the Openbank Interest-Bearing Account, which offers 2.02% APR (2% NIR) with no maximum balance for one year to customers who sign up and use Bizum.
This new product links the interest earned on savings to the use of everyday services, such as payments via Bizum, rewarding customers’ day-to-day banking as part of its value proposition. The Openbank Interest-Bearing Account comes with a current account and an associated debit card, both with no fees.
Customers can also receive €20 per month for ten months, up to a maximum of €200, when they activate their current account and set up two different direct debits per month, with no minimum amount required. Payments will be made once the direct debits have been successfully processed.
To take advantage of this promotion, customers must open the new account before 17 April and enter the code “OPEN400”.
With this launch, Openbank is expanding its offering in the interest-bearing accounts segment, combining a competitive rate with recurring incentives linked to everyday use.
