Openbank sponsors the Superliga, the official eSports competition of League of Legends in Spain

Openbank, the 100% digital bank of Grupo Santander, has reached an agreement to become the first bank to sponsor the League of Legends Superliga, earning the status of the benchmark financial institution of eSports. The competition, organised by the Professional Video Gaming League (LVP, Mediapro Group), is the largest in Spain and the second largest in Europe in terms of audience. It is the point of reference for followers of this popular video game, which has now racked up twelve seasons as audience leader with almost 10 million unique users in 2020.

The bank will make its debut on the twelfth day of the competition, which will be aired on 8 July and can be followed online through Twitch or on TV channel UBEAT. Openbank will have its own ‘Openbank Statistics’ section, featuring commentary on the most outstanding players in each match in all Superliga programmes during the regular phase as well as in the playoffs, until the final on 12 August. It will also have a strong social media presence on LVP’s channels, with the featured head-to-head in the match of the day.

The League of Legends Superliga is broadcast every Monday and Thursday at 6:00 p.m. on the LVP Twitch channel and on television through UBEAT.
