Third edition of the Openbank Literary Awards by Vanity Fair

Openbank, the 100% digital bank of the Santander Group, and Vanity Fair announce the third edition of the Openbank Literary Awards by Vanity Fair, which will be held on 13 March 2025 at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz hotel in Madrid. In just two editions, the awards have established themselves as one of the most unmissable events of the year. The awards recognise the best literary works published during the previous year and also honour the talent and contribution of outstanding figures in the world of publishing and culture.
Past winners of previous editions include some of the most prominent bookshops, authors, translators and cover designers, such as Mary Beard, Alana S. Portero, Fernando Navarro, Juan Gómez Bárcena, Silvia Sesé, Donna Salama, Juan Villoro, Francisco Socas, Ana Cañellas, Paco Goyanes, Mar García Puig, Riki Blanco, La Puerta de Tannhäuser, Carlos Granés, Miriam Toews, Rüdiger Safranski and Marian Ochoa de Eribe, among others.
Furthermore, each edition honours a renowned author with a special award for Best Literary Career. In the previous two editions, the winners were Siri Hustvedt and Enrique Vila-Matas.
The judges for the 2025 edition are: Maria Jesús Espinosa de los Monteros, Managing Director of PRISA Audio; Malcolm Otero, literary critic and editor; Diego Garrocho, columnist for EL PAÍS and Vice Dean of Research, Knowledge Transfer and Library of UAM; Pepa Blanes, Head of Culture of Cadena SER; Lorena Gómez Maldonado, journalist for El Español; Antonio Lucas Herrero, writer and journalist for El Mundo; Alberto Moreno, Head of Editorial Content of Vanity Fair; Laura Puente, marketing director at Openbank; María de los Ángeles Fernández, Founder of Crazy Mary bookshop; Laura Revuelta, Editor-in-chief of ABC Cultural; Irene Hernández, culture manager of El Confidencial; Xavi Ayén, head of culture of La Vanguardia; and Fernando Bonete, literary critic.
