When do you start accumulating cashback?
The first business day of the month after meeting the promotional terms and conditions, ending 6 months from that same date.
For example, if you set up a direct deposit for your salary on 27 November, you will accumulate cashback on your purchases from 1 December 2025 until 29 May 2026 (both inclusive).
When do you receive the cashback you have accumulated?
The month following the end of your promotional period.
For example, if your cashback period ends on 29 May 2026 (inclusive), you will receive the amount you accumulate on your debit and credit card purchases (up to €5001) over the course of June 2026.
What cards are included in the promotion?
Openbank credit2 and debit cards.
You’ll earn back 3% of what you pay with a debit card and 10% of your purchases with a credit card2. The amounts can be added together up to €5001 during the 6-month promotional period.
Prepaid cards are not included.
What are the terms and conditions for taking part?
- You must be an Openbank customer on 13 January 2026.
- You must be an individual aged over 18 years old and a resident in Spain.
- You must be an active Openbank current account holder.
- Your income must be paid directly into Openbank for at least 24 months.
- The salary, pension or unemployment benefit must be identified as such with the corresponding interbank code, with recurring income being invalid, except for self-employed customers.
- You must be the holder of an Openbank card or take it out before 27 February 2026.
- You must not have had a direct deposit for your salary, pension or unemployment benefit between 15 May 2025 and 16 November 2025 (both inclusive) for amounts greater than €500. For self-employed customers, you must have not had a RETA direct debit set up nor regular deposits for amounts greater than €500 between 15 May 2025 and 16 November 2025 (both inclusive).
- You must not have benefited in the last 5 years from any campaign for which the established requirement was to set up a direct deposit for your salary, pension and/or unemployment benefit at Openbank and which was associated with the delivery of any product or payment of an incentive, or any other carried out in this promotional period.
- To take part in the promotion, the cardholder must be the same person who has set up direct debits for their salary, pension, unemployment benefit or conditions required for self-employed persons. The amounts of cards associated with another account holder, if any, cannot be added together.

Payment of the incentive constitutes investment income, subject to withholding tax, at the current rate of 19%, which will be applied by Openbank in accordance with applicable tax regulations. Customers must declare the incentive received in the savings tax base of their personal income tax (IRPF) return. Customers are entitled to the deduction of the withholding tax applied.
