Why invest in funds?
- No need to be an expert. You don't have to research the markets like professionals - the fund managers take care of this for you.
- You diversify the risk. Investment funds are composed of different assets, so you avoid putting all your eggs into one basket.
- Tax advantages. You can transfer your investment from one fund to another, whenever you want and without any fees. You will only be subject to tax when you sell it.
- Access your money whenever you want. You can redeem your investment at any time. If you have investments in guaranteed funds, you will have to wait for a specific period of time.
Please note that any investment carries some level of risk, including the lack of return, loss of invested capital, and/or the foreign exchange risk for non-euro denominated products.
Before investing, please consult the level of risk and information for each of the Investment Funds distributed by Open Bank, S.A., in the Prospectus or Key Investor Information Document for each one of the Investment Funds, available at www.openbank.es/en and www.cnmv.es.

2 The risk rating shown is that defined in the KIID of each fund. It is established by the CNMV (National Securities Market Commission) as a reference indicator of the potential return and risk. It is calculated using the historical data that may not be a reliable indicator of the future performance of the fund. On a scale of 1 to 7, a lower risk potentially entails a smaller return. Under no circumstance does level 1 mean it is risk-free.
3 Please note that the diversified investment examples of the "Build your Portfolio" service have not considered all the investment products available in the market, nor is it considered a personalised advisory service, given that the financial situation, investment goals or other personal needs of a particular investor have not been taken into account. What is an investment fund?
It consists of money that is pooled by various investors and invested and managed by financial market specialists. Its main appeal is that you can obtain a higher return than by investing on your own.
To invest in a fund, all you have to do is buy one or more shares/units of the fund. This makes you a participant. Invest at any time and from very small amounts.
There is a range of different types of investment funds: sustainable investment funds (ESG funds), which follow certain environmental, social and good governance criteria to invest in companies; funds that invest in stocks (companies) in a particular sector; index funds (which replicate the composition of an index to allow you, for example, to "invest as if a part of the IBEX 35 were yours") or actively managed funds (in which a management team studies the companies where it wants to invest the participants' money.
Openbank offers more than 3,000 index and actively managed investment funds in which you can invest from one euro or less. Try using our Fund Finder tool.
What types of investment funds do we offer at Openbank?
At Openbank, you can find more than 3,000 investment funds from the full scope of categories where you can invest from €1 or less. What’s more, we don’t charge transfer, subscription, custody or redemption fees.
Use our Fund Finder tool, applying filters including the currency or the risk you're willing to take on, or by searching by keywords.
Among our offering, you can find sector-specific or thematic funds. Plus, we are always updating our fund lists by identifying new investment opportunities in line with global developments and according to the analysis carried out by our Investment Committee.
You can also find passively managed or index funds, which offer lower management fees compared to actively managed funds, as the management team track and replicate indexes, such as the Spanish Ibex 35 or the US S&P 500, in turn significantly reducing costs.
We also offer ESG investment funds from leading asset managers. These funds follow environmental, social and good governance criteria. In addition to contributing positively to society and the environment, this type of investment offers greater efficiency and stability in the medium and long term.
What fees do you have to pay?
The management and deposit fees indicated in the prospectus of each fund shall be deducted from its net asset value. Openbank does not charge transfer, subscription, custody or redemption fees, and you can invest from €1 or less in most of the 3,000 investment funds we offer.
What are the risks of investment funds?
In the breakdown of each fund, you can check the risk levels from 1 to 7 established in accordance with the current regulations, so that you can invest in the investment fund that is most suited to your profile. Bear in mind that past performance is no guarantee of future results.
Please note that any investment in financial markets bears some level of risk, including the loss of nvested capital or lack of return.
When can you redeem your investment?
You can redeem your investment whenever you need it. The liquidity of investment funds is a huge advantage compared to term deposits (in which you have to wait for maturity to receive the principal and interest agreed). If you invest in guaranteed funds, you will have to wait a specific period of time.
